BEACON (1 Oct 05) - A first alarm was sounded at about 12:30pm for a house fire at 735 Wolcott Avenue. While enroute to the job, Tower Ladder 33-45 reported smoke showing in the distance. Upon arrival of the truck he reported a working fire in a two story 20x30 private dwelling.

Engine 33-12 was the first due engine and hit a hydrant in front of the dwelling with the front suction. After establishing a water supply, two lines were stretched and put into operation. The main body of fire was found to be in the rear of the structure and was knocked down in minutes. Companies opened up the second floor and attic to find extension in the walls and attic area. The fire in these areas were quickly extinguished, making fire damage to the second floor area confined to one room.

The City Fire Investigation Unit investigated the fire and determined it to be accidental. One firefighter suffered minor injuries and no occupants were injured.
