BEACON (03 Jan 01) - At about 1:30AM the City of Beacon Fire Department and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corp. were dispatched to a report of a possible structure fire at the Tony' Pizza Shop in the Looper's Plaza on Wolcott Ave. Upon arrival heavy smoke was coming from the front of the store. A 2nd alarm was then immediately requested by Chief 33-1. Rescue 1 (33-55) responded to the scene. There was a heavy fire condition in the rear of the store and took approximately 10 minutes to control and was confined to that store. No other injuries were reported.
