BEACON (5 September 06) - Early Tuesday morning a full first alarm assignment was assigned for an alarm sounding with an odor of electric burning at 42 Tompkins Terrace Apartments. Upon arrival of the assignment they found no visible smoke in the area, however there was a heavy odor of something burning in the area. Upon opening the door to the apartment, companies found a heavy smoke condition with visible fire in the apartment. Engine 33-12 quickly stretched an attack hose line and entered the apartment, while the other companies searched for any victims. Although the engine company held the fire to a small area of the apartment, it still suffered significant heat and smoke damage.
