NEWBURGH (12 October 06) - Career Firefighters Romanelli and Joseph received the Saint Luke's Hospital Lifesaver Award for their part in the CPR/ AED save of Chief Joseph on May 10th, 2006. On that date the Chief of the Department, Timothy Joseph, suffered a severe heart attack and was immediately attended to by the on duty career firefighters, Beacon Volunteer Ambulance personnel, and Alamo EMS personnel assigned to Beacon. Their fast actions saved the chief and earned them the hospital's life saver award.
