BEACON (06 Dec 06) - A busy day with seven runs, three of which were transmitted as house fires, turned out a confirmed house fire. At 11:29am, while companies were operating at two previous EMS runs, a full first alarm assignment was transmitted for a house fire at School St and West Center St. Glenham Engine 43-11 was also assigned on the assignment due to other companies being committed at other alarms.

Upon arrival of Car 33-1 (Chief Joseph), he reported heavy smoke showing from a 2 story 30x50 wood frame private dwelling located at 15 West Center Street. Engine 33-12 was the first due engine and hit a hydrant in front of the neighboring residence. Companies then quickly stretched hand lines into the first floor, while truck companies opened up. Due to the building being of balloon frame construction, the fire had spread from the basement, through the first and second floor walls, and up into the attic.

Companies confined the fire into the walls and attic saving a large portion of the house. Village of Fishkill Quint 42-12 as the FAST team and Rescue 33-55 were special called to the scene. In addition Hughsonville, Chelsea, and Rombout were special called for station cover assignments.
