BEACON (7 March 2007) - Overnight a solid mix of snow and ice hit the region leaving some very slick roads for the morning commute. At about 7:00am Rescue 33-55 was placed on a run with Glenham in Glenham Fire District for a reported accident on Interstate 84 between the Beacon and Glenham exit. Upon arrival of the first due companies from Glenham numerous accidents were found on the Interstate, however none had any injuries.

During the same time at about 7:20am, Glenham was struck with another accident with injuries on Route 52 between the Glenham exit of the Interstate and the City. So the Glenham equipment and Rescue 33-55 took up from the first run and took in the second. Upon arrival of the companies, they found a two car head on with entrapment of one vehicle. Glenham Squad 43-12 and Rescue 33-55 used their Jaws of Life to remove the roof from the vehicle and free one of the victims from it. One victim suffered minor injuries and was transported BLS and the second victim which was extricated was in serious condition and transported ALS.
