BEACON (2 August 2007) - At about 6:30pm, a technical rescue run was transmitted for Rescue 33-55 and Engine 33-11 for three juveniles stranded in middle of the Fishkill Creek at the East Main Street Bridge Falls. Upon arrival of Car 33-2, Assistant Chief Lahey, he found three children who had been fishing off a rock in the falls that had been stranded after a dam upstream was released raising the water level.

The members then quickly placed a 24-foot extension ladder between the children and the shore secured with a length of life rope. Next companies used another life rope as a safety belay to secure the rescuer and the children while they crossed via the ladder.

All three children where crossed without incident or injury. The process took about 30 minutes to set-up and remove the children.
