BEACON (7 August 06) - At about 2:30pm, Dutchess 911 dispatched Engine 33-11 and Tower Ladder 33-45 (support), to a reported male who had fallen off a motor scooter with a head injury. Upon arrival of Engine 33-11, they found an unconscious middle-aged male with severe head trauma from the accident. The incident commander, Chief Joseph (Car 33-1), then requested a medevac to transport the victim to the regional trauma center. The only available helicopter had to abort due to mechanical problems, so the victim was transported to the area trauma center, St Francis, via ambulance.
