BEACON (4 September 2007) - At around 7:30pm, Dutchess 911 assigned Engine 33-11, Engine 33-12, and Tower Ladder 33-45 to an automatic fire alarm at the Hedgewood Home for Adults. While enroute, Dutchess 911 upgraded the assignment to a structure fire with a reported fire on the third floor adding Beacon Volunteer Ambulance with an ambulance to the assignment.

Upon arrival of Car 33-1 (Chief Joseph) he reported an investigative mode with nothing showing. Upon further investigation, companies found a sprinkler head activation on the top floor, third floor, with burned contents in a room. Further investigation found that the resident of the room intentially set the fire which was held to the room and extingushed by the sprinkler system. The resident was arrested and charged at the scene with arson.
