BEACON (7 Oct 01) - On the evening of Sunday, October 7, 2001, the City of Beacon Fire Department and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance corp. were dispatched to a reported fire near the train station. Upon arrival of Engine 2 (33-12) they reported a fully-involved 15x20 vacant wood-frame building in the old train yard. It took firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The fire is under investigation.
