BEACON (30 October 2008) - The City of Beacon Fire Department is proud to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of its website. Started in 1998 as one of the first fire department websites in the region, the site has proudly seen over 100,000 visitors from all around the world!

The site has been upgraded six times since it's start 10 years ago and has always featured some of the latest content. It was one of the first in the region to offer virtual tours of fire apparatus and one of the first to offer video content of incidents. Through the years, the site has seen visitors from Australia, India, Italy, Ireland, and beyond. Many of which have contacted this agency for various requests.

One of the most interesting requests was for one of the historical photos on the site. A person from California sent an e-mail asking for the address of an incident that was featured in the historical photos section because she believed that the fire was one in her house when she was a child living in Beacon in the 1950s.
