DUTCHESS JUNCTION (20 February 2009) - At about 8pm, City of Beacon Rescue 33-55 was dispatched on automatic response for a two car head-on serious auto accident along with Dutchess Junction Fire District. Upon arrival of Car 33-1 (Chief Joseph), he reported a three car MVA with entrapment and critical injury of one vehicle on Route 9D near the Dutchess Junction Park. Upon arrival of Rescue 33-55, crews quickly performed extrication of the critical victim with the Jaws of Life.

The critical victim was transported by Beacon Volunteer Ambulance about a 1/4 mile south of the accident scene to the Dutchess Manor were a landing zone was established. Stat Flight Medevac Air 2 transported the victim to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition.

There were a total of three other victims involved in the accident, two of which received minor injuries and one of which received serious injuries. The accident is under investigation by the Town of Fishkill Police Department.
