BEACON (15 August 2009) - Just after 3AM, a first alarm was struck for a structure fire, fire on the porch, of 96 Rombout Avenue. Upon arrival of Car 33-2 (Assistant Chief Lahey), he found an active fire on the fire and crawl space of a front porch. One 1 3/4 line was stretched and held the fire to the porch. Companies opened up the porch w/ a K-12 Partner Saw and overhauled the porch. The fire was determined to be caused by a discarded cigarette.
