BEACON (20 February 2010) - Denny Lahey, Sr has served the City of Beacon Fire Department for nearly 50 years. Proudly serving every year as an active member, Denny continues to be a top responder each year to this day. Denny worked his way up the ranks and has served in every officer position including Department Chief.

For all his dedicated years of service, Denny was awarded by the department and the Beacon Elk Lodge #1493 as the 2009 Firematic Hero of the Year. A dinner was held at the lodge in his honor on February 20, 2010.
