BEACON (5 July 2010) - At around 1am on Sunday, June 20th, Rescue 33-55 and Engine 33-11 were dispatched to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Route 9D and Teller Ave. Upon arrival of Car 33-1, Chief Joseph, a high speed motorcycle accident was found with the bike impacting a telephone pole. Member along with Beacon Volunteer Ambulance packaged the patient who was in stable condition. A medevac was requested due to the mechanism of injury, however was grounded due to weather. The victim was then ground transported to St Francis Level II Trauma Center.

A few weeks later on Monday, July 5th, at around 2pm, Engine 33-11, Tower Ladder 33-45, and Rescue 33-55 were dispatched to 15 Paye Avenue for a partial building collapse with a person trapped. Upon arrival of Car 33-1, Chief Joseph, and Tower Ladder 33-45, they found a person trapped under a balcony collapse. Companies quikly removed the balcony off the victim and found him to be in critical condition with numerious fractures. A medevac was launched with a landing zone at Sargent Field. The medevac, Stat Flight Air 2, transported the victim to the area Level 1 trauma center, Westchester Medical Center.
