BEACON (23 August 2010) - At about 2:30am, a first alarm was transmitted for 31 Crescent for smoke coming from the side of a building. Upon arrival of Car 1, 33-1 (Chief Joseph), he reported smoke showing from a 30x40 1-story wood frame house. Upon further investigation, an active fire was found in the basement that was extending into the 1st floor.

Glenham Engine 43-11 was special called above the 1st alarm to cover the city at this point while companies streched one line to knock down the fire. The fire was held to the basement and one room of the 1st floor. The fire was as a result of a fire that started in the electrical box in the basement.
