BEACON (26 September 2010) - Each year the Spirit of Beacon Day Parade honors the city's volunteer of the year. This year the committee choose Denny Lahey, Sr as the volunteer of the year for his 50 years of service to the city department. Denny has logged more time and hours to the department than any other member in it's history. Serving as a member since 1960, Denny has served all the way up to the rank of Chief and still maintains his active status as one of the number one responders.
