BEACON (16 November 2010) - The city keep busy three days in a row, with three major incidents. On Sunday, November 14th, at around 1pm a still alarm was transmitted for a an auto-pedistrian accident at the intersection of Colonial and Lafayette. Upon arrival of Engine 33-11 it was determined that a 10 year old child was struck and had possible loss of conscouness. As a result the child needed to be trasnported to the regional trauma center via Medevac. A landing zone was established in Memorial Park and the child was air lifted to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition.

The following day, Monday, November 15th, late in the night around 11pm, a 1st alarm of fire was struck for 34 Melio Bettina Place. Upon arrival of Car 1 (33-1), Chief Joseph, nothing was showing. Upon entering the residence an active fire was found in the wall on both the 1st and 2nd floor of the building. Companies quickly streched two 1 3/4" attack hose lines and opened up the wall to expose the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and held in the wall. One additional engine, Glenham 43-11, was special called to cover the city at Station 2.

Next on Tuesday, November 16th, at around 6:30pm, an auto accident was transmitted for mid span of the Newburgh-Beacon bridge. Upon arrival of Rescue 33-55 and Engine 33-11, a 5 car accident was found that had involved a tractor trailer. One person was found to have minor entrapment in one of the vehicles and the Jaws of Life were used to perform a door pop.
