BEACON (5 December 2010) - At around 1:30pm, Dutchess 911 received calls of smoke coming from a building at 182 Main Street. Upon arrival of Engine 33-12 they reported seeing smoke showing from the eaves of a 3-story brick Main Street building. Upon further investigation, crews found an active fire in the ceiling and cockloft of a 3rd floor apartment. A second alarm was than transmitted bringing Rescue 33-55 and Village of Fishkill Quint 42-12 (FAST Team) to the scene and Rombout Tower Ladder 62-45 and Glenham Engine 43-11 to the city for covers.

Crews used one 1 3/4" attack hose line to extinguish the fire which was confined to the cockloft of the 3 story 20x50 building. No injuries were reported and damage was kept to a minimum throughout the rest of the building.
