BEACON (11 Jan 04) - On Sunday, January 11, 2004, the City of Beacon Fire Dept and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corp were dispatched for a possible apartment fire. Upon arrival of Engine 1 (33-11) and Ladder 1 (33-45), they found heavy smoke coming from the 2nd floor of a 2 story 30x50 wood frame occupied multiple dwelling. Companies used one hand line to quickly knock down the fire which was confined to one room of the 2nd floor. Glenham with 1 engine for station covers was special called.
