BEACON (15 Feb 04) - On Sunday, February 15, 2004, the City of Beacon Fire Dept and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corp were dispatched for a structure fire. Upon arrival of Career Lieutenant Dexter (Car 9 - 33-9), he found a fully-involved 10x20 1 story wood-frame detached garage with multiple residences nearby causing exposure problems. Companies used a 2 1/2" hand line and two 1 3/4" hand lines to quickly knock down the fire which was confined to the garage. Two nearby private dwellings suffered only minor smoke and heat damage.
