BEACON (27 Dec 04)
- A first alarm was transmitted at approximately 0030, for a
reported fire in the basement at 944 Wolcott Avenue. Upon arrival
of
Ladder 33-45, smoke was visible from the basement and first floor
windows of the one story private dwelling.
First Due Engine Companies quickly stretched
two hand lines and knocked down the fire which was confined to one room in
the 1st floor and one room in the basement. The fire started on the first
floor by a candle falling onto the floor and burning through the floor,
starting the basement room on fire.
