BEACON (22 July 02) - On Monday, July, 22, 2002 at 10:45pm the City of Beacon Fire Dept. and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance were dispatched to a structure fire at 74 Spring Valley Street. Upon arrival of Ladder 1 (33-45), heavy smoke was showing from the 3.5 story wood frame structure. About 30 firefighters confined the fire to a second floor rear apartment. One firefighter was transported to Vassar hospital with minor injuries. The fire is still under investigation by the City of Beacon Fire Investigation Unit.
