BEACON (22 Dec 05) - At about 11:00PM on Thursday night, a full first alarm assignment was transmitted for a reported structure fire at 15 DePuyster Ave. Upon arrival of the first due, Engine 33-11, he reported smoke showing from the rear. Engine 33-11 hit the hydrant in front of the 1 story private dwelling with its bumper mounted 5inch and stretched one line into the residence. While Tower Ladder 33-45 conducted a search and opened up the dwelling, 11's crew knocked down the fire and confined it to the rear bedroom. The main body of fire was held to the area of and the mattress itself. The fire is currently under investigation by the city fire investigation unit.
