BEACON (25 Sept 2005) - Sunday filled Main Street with thousands of Beaconites and people from abroad to celebrate Beacon's annual community day, also known as "Spirit of Beacon Day". The day kicked off for the fire department at 11:00AM with a fire prevention booth at the intersection of Main and Eliza. The booth featured Beacon Firefighters with fire prevention flyers & displays, 33-1/2 "Freddy", and a fire prevention trailer provided by the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response. The event also had a large parade with 33-11, 12, and 45. It was concluded at about 5:00pm.
