BEACON (26 May 05) - Career Firefighter Fisch was appointed in February and was then sent to the New York State Fire Academy. At the academy he received 3 months of training, known as probie school. Probie school is where career firefighters go to receive their basic training. Included in this training is everything from operating a fire apparatus to extricating someone from a vehicle.
