BEACON (26 June 02)  - On Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at about 6:45PM, the Glenham Fire District was dispatched for a possible drowning just north of the Groveville Dam. Upon arrival they found the incident actually occurred downstream in the City of Beacon at the Groveville Dam. Glenham then requested the following equipment to the scene for assistance in searching for the victim. Beacon with Rescue 1 (33-55), Engine 1 (33-11), and Boat 1 (33-99). Chelsea with Engine/Rescue 1 and Boat 1. New Hamburg with Mini-Rescue 1 and Boat 1. Hughsonville with a Boat. They also requested Dutchess County Sheriff with their ESU unit and SCUBA team. Also New York State Police with their SCUBA team and aviation unit (Lifeguard 17).
