On Saturday, August 26, 2000 at 00:19, Ladder 33-45 witnessed heavy smoke coming from the rear of the Yankee Clipper Diner on Main Street. A first alarm was transmitted dispatching two engines and one ladder along with Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Within minutes, fire was venting from two rear windows of the diner. The fire was placed under control within ten minutes. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene. The fire was labeled electrical in nature.
