DUTCHESS COUNTY (30 March 05) - Each year the Exchange Club of Southern Dutchess awards the top emergency service workers throughout Dutchess County. For a second year in a row, a City of Beacon Firefighter was named the Firefighter of the Year. This year Firefighter Davis was honored with the award for his heroic actions at a fatal house fire on Eliza Street on January of 2004. Davis was thrown some 14 feet in a flashover when he was rescuing the family from their porch.
