BEACON (30

- On Thursday, May 30, 2002 at about 2:30PM, the City of Beacon Fire
Department and Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corp. were dispatched to a
structure fire on 49 Alice Street. Upon arrival Ladder 1 (33-45) found heavy fire in
the rear of the 2nd floor and into the attic of a 2-story 20x50 private
dwelling. Command required a 2nd alarm due to fire condition and for covers
to the city. The fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes and was
confined to the 2nd floor. Mutual aid came from Glenham, Village of
Fishkill, and
Chelsea fire departments to cover the city. <<
